Teams and projects
Find your team
Six project teams build the rover. Four operations teams keep the society running. Every one of them is open to new members.

- Goal
- Australian Rover Challenge 2027
We are building WALLY for the 2027 Australian Rover Challenge. Each project team works on one of its subsystems.
- 01 · Structures
Custom chassis
A lightweight aluminium chassis with custom sway bar suspension, for manoeuvrability and stability on rough terrain.
- 02 · Power systems
Custom power distribution
Power management circuitry designed for safety, reliability and modularity.
- 03 · Tooling
Robotic arm and excavator
A robotic arm, still in development, for the challenge tasks such as servicing equipment and operating panels, and an excavator designed for the competition.
- 04 · Navigation and control
Remote base station
An operator drives WALLY by remote control from a dedicated base station with a live video feed.
- 05 · Science payload
Resource extraction
A science payload designed to drill, collect and extract water from lunar ice analogues.

Membership
Learn as you build
New members start with onboarding sessions, then learn from experienced members at subsystem meetings, workshop build sessions and general meetings.
Regular beach test days combine field testing, competition preparation and time together as a team.
